对涉嫌不足一米七的萨科奇来说，身高一直是他心中的“隐痛”。所以据说他出门演讲和拍照都自带增高脚凳。2009年6月6日，萨科奇在诺曼底登陆65周年纪念日上，为了让自己看起来高一点，站在脚凳上做演讲，而这一幕又被摄影师毫不留情地拍了下来。

除了自带增高脚凳，穿增高鞋，拍照时努力垫脚也是萨科奇的常用“伎俩”。图为奥巴马夫妇访问法国时，四人合影的刹那，萨科奇假装挥手，顺势踮起脚跟。而为了配合他，当天妻子布吕尼和奥巴马夫人都贴心的穿了平底鞋。
