You can view the current transformation(s) applied to incoming data when scanning or probing using the Manage Transform command. These transformations determine where incoming data is placed. This command allows you to easily determine the correct alignment for your session.
You can reset, reload, load, and save transformation data for both hardware (your probing device) and software (alignments). Both your hard-probe transformation matrix and the global transformation matrix can be viewed. These transformations are combined to set the overall transformation.
For example, if you use the Iterative Alignment command, you will see the Hardware Transformation update. This transformation is applied to any scanning or probing input. A software alignment which aligns a Test object to a Reference object will set the software transformation matrix.
Note: You can also control whether or not the hardware and software transformations for the previous session are reloaded when you launch the Geomagic application. For more information, see Setting Digitizers Options.
On the Capture tab, click the button in the Align group.
The Manage Transform settings appear on the Dialog tab.
Review the currently specified scale factor, and perform one of the following actions:
If the factor is correct, proceed to the next step.
If the factor needs to be adjusted, use the Temperature Compensation command.
Set the factor back to its default setting (1.0) by clicking the Reset button.
Return the factor to the value it was using the last time you accessed this command by clicking the Restore button.
Review the currently loaded transformations, and perform one of the following actions:
If the transformations are correct, click OK to close the settings.
If the transformations are not correct, proceed to the next step.
Use any of the following options, in either the Hardware Transformation Matrix area or the Software Transformation Matrix area, to adjust the matrices, as necessary:
Reset. Allows you to clear the currently loaded transforms.
Restore. Allows you to return the matrix to its value when you first opened the command.
Load Previous. Allows you to load the last transformation that was used, even if the last transformation was from a previous session.
Note: You can automatically load the last transformation when this command is launched using the Load Transformation Matrix on Launch settings on the Options dialog box. For more information, see Setting Digitizers Options.
Load File. Allows you to load a previously saved matrix (via the Save File option or from another source).
Save File. Allows you to save the current matrix to a file, which can then be loaded at any time using the Load File option.
Click OK to save the transformation information and close the settings.
